
Virginia Tola - Amelia
Winner of
the Operalia Prize in Barcelona Mrs. Tola began a career that brought her to
important theaters such as: Colòn in Buenos Aires, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia
in Valencia, Teatro Real in Madrid, Washington National Opera, Opéra in Monte
Carlo, Arena in Verona, La Monnaie in Brussels, Los Angeles Opéra, Teatro dell’
Opera in Rome, Regio in Turin and the opera houses in Klagenfurt, La Plata and
Santa Fe. After her
successes as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Contessa d’Almaviva in Le
Nozze di Figaro, Violetta in Traviata, Desdemona in Otello,
Luisa Miller (title role) and Mimì in La Bohème, she has
recently added new roles to her repertoire singing Lina in Stiffelio,
Abigaille in Nabucco, Nedda in Pagliacci, Amelia in Un ballo in
Maschera. Mrs. Tola lately sang Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera at the
Teatro Regio in Parma, Desdemona in Otello in Modena and Piacenza and
Lina in Stiffelio in Monte-Carlo. Besides her
opera appearances, Ms. Tola usually performs in concerts all over the world, she
recently appeared in recital besides Placido Domingo in Japan. Mrs. Tola’s
discography includes Ginastera’s Don Rodrigo and Milena and Bacalov’s
Triple Concerto on Delos International. Among her future plans it is
worth mentioning Don Giovanni in Oviedo; Falstaff in
São Paulo; Un ballo in Maschera at the Arena in Verona.

Iano Tamar - Amelia*
Considered
one of the best voices of dramatic soprano, she has collaborated with conductors
such as Riccardo Muti and Gianandrea Gavazzeni. Among the most successful
performances it is worth mentioning: Elisabetta di Valois in Don
Carlos at the Staatsoper in Vienna, Rachel in La Juive at the
Fenice in Venice, Tosca at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Leonora in Il
Trovatore at the Bregenz Festival, Leonora in La Forza del Destino
at the Bayerische Staatsoper. Besides the great dramatic roles of the nineteenth
century, Iano Tamar is an interpreter of Mozart's characters like Electra,
Fiordiligi and Contessa d’Almaviva. Mrs. Tamar recently performed Il
Trovatore in Athens; Macbeth at the Opéra in Lyon; Nabucco in
Antwerp; Don Carlo in Vienna; Lucio Silla in Barcelona. Among her
future plans it is worth mentioning Aida (Amneris) at the Opera in
Zurich, Fabio Luisi conducting and La Forza del Destino at the New
National Theatre in Tokyo.

Giuseppe Gipali - Riccardo, Conte di Warwick
Refined interpreter of Verdi’s
operas, his repertoire ranges from Bel Canto to Verismo, to the French Lyric
repertoire, which he sang all over the world in prestigious theatres such as:
Teatro alla Scala, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Arena
di Verona, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Covent Garden in London, Wiener
Staatsoper, Théâtre du Chatelet and Opera Bastille in Paris, Théâtre du Capitole
in Toulouse, Liceu in Barcelona, San Francisco Opera. Mr. Gipali collaborated
with Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Daniele Gatti, Nicola Luisotti, Daniele
Callegari and directors as Franco Zeffirelli, Mario Martone and Pierluigi Pizzi.
Mr. Gipali lately performed La Traviata in Bologna; Don Carlo in
Zurich, Vienna and Berlin; Il Trovatore in Marseille; Attila at
the Opera in Rome, at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, and at the Opéra Royal
de Wallonie in Liège; Norma in Toulon. Future plans: Lucia di
Lammermoor and I Due Foscari in Marseille. Mr. Gipali
will also return to Lousanne to perform Rodolfo in Luisa Miller.
